So we are finally starting to record our first game for You Tube! After GMing for over 17 years, I started running for a friends Twitch Channel called Geeked Out…check them out here, with a cohost player, Tony King, who you can check out here! After moving through my jitters for running live, which was so much fun, I got addicted to fans being able to have an impact in the game they were watching.

Moving into the social media era of gaming is nerve wracking! Normally, it’s just 30 min before session, getting DM jitters, of, do I have everything I need, have I thought through everything they may do tonight (of course not, players are wildly unpredictable, usually in the best way possible), reread my notes from last week (again), getting myself in the right head space to GM, and putting all the real worldness aside. Now, I have to think about making sure we have a good sound check, how is everyone’s lighting, is the overlay fitting perfectly, can you see the map on screen, are all of my maps in a row on roll 20 so I don’t have to spend time, while recording, to switch maps, and I’m sure 100 more problems that I haven’t thought of of yet. Am I excited? Of course I am!

So! The first thing we are going to post to You Tube is Chariot of the Gods, a module using the Aliens RPG by Free League Publishing. We are recording the intros on Saturday. Gary and I will be recording the intro to the channel tomorrow. Our green screen came yesterday, and I made a fantasy coffee shop setting for our back drop with midjourney.

We also want to do something cool for our subscribers, and we are thinking:

I don’t know, just spit balling, trying to think everything through!

Once we get the You Tube stuff recorded, then I will start posting on Twitch. Where viewers will be able to help either the players or the host with advantage, potions, extra enemies, etc…
